Join Emerging Voices in Research and help update the Good Childhood Index for today's generation

What is the Project?

Works For All are working on behalf of The Children's Society to understand more about young people's wellbeing.

Every year, The Children's Society conducts research by asking young people to complete a short questionnaire about different areas of their life. This is called The Good Childhood Index.

The Good Childhood Index was developed in 2010. Since then, the world has changed and The Children's Society want to work with young people like you to make sure it asks about the things that are most important to young people now.

What Will the Work Involve?

As a Member of the Emerging Voices in Research Group you will:

Design the Project

Work with us at Works For All to design how we should speak to young people about wellbeing and what materials we should use

Advise and Steer

Meet with us as the project progresses to provide guidance on what we're doing

Conduct Research

If you would like, you'll have the opportunity to do some of the research yourself

Share Your Voice

You won't need to talk about your own experiences if you don't want to - your insights and ideas are what matter most

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for 6 young people aged 13-17 who live anywhere in England or Wales.

We are especially interested in getting applications from young people who:

What is Works For All?

Works For All is all about making sure that things are designed with the people they are meant for. We make sure that people can have their say in projects that affect them, so that decisions aren't just made by other people without their input.

We are working on behalf of The Children's Society to help them explore the Good Childhood Index alongside children and young people.
